STRATHCONA RAPTOR  SHELTER

The Barred owl (Strix varia) in the frost just after Christmas, 2002.

May sound like the barking of a dog.( A Field Guide to Western Birds, Peterson Pg 124.)

Golden eagle in the frosty flight aviary.

These Saw-whet owls are trying to find the door to their pen. They were being released at night . Look for their eyes on the perch center top, and on the tree lower right. The picture was taken in infrared light.
