The Strathcona Raptor Shelter

What Do We Do At The Shelter?

We provide 24/7 days a week 365/days a year telephone response to injured birds of prey @ 780-922-3024 and 780-720-5507.

Transport

We arrange transport once the bird has been safety contained.

Veterinary Care: X-rays, Prescription Medications and Surgeries

We work with amazing Veterinary Clinics to provide necessary veterinary care.

Daily Treatments

Care at the Shelter includes tube feeding, changing bandages, administering medications, blood work, Cold Laser, and Hyperbaric Chamber treatments as required.

Flight Testing

Survival in the wild is not easy. To ensure the best possible outcomes once the birds are released we flight test them prior to release because flying requires a high level of acuity and their survival depends on it.
